New BMW 3 Series F30 (2012)

Introduction:
This is the next iteration of the BMW 3 Series is expected to arrive in 2012. Its exterior is influenced by the F01 7 Series and especially the F10 5 Series. The saloon, wagon, coupé, and convertible body styles will return. There is also expected to be a five-door hatchback version with a coupé-like style similar to the 5 Series Gran Turismo, and this will slot between the 3 Series wagon and the X3 crossover, replacing the outgoing BMW Compact as a hatchback version of the 3-series. Technology currently available in the 7 Series and 5 Series is expected to feature in the BMW 3 Series F30, such as a lane-departure warning system, night vision, a system to prevent the driver from falling asleep, and radar-based adaptive cruise control with collision-mitigating automatic braking.

About the Supercar's Engine:
The BMW 3 Series F30 is expected to be powered by a new family of aluminum four-cylinder gasoline engines ranging from 135 to 245 horsepower. These will include new technologies such as variable intake and exhaust-valve timing, sequential turbochargers, and direct fuel injection. There will also be a hybrid version which augments the transmission with two electric motors and expected fuel savings of 20 percent, a similar powertrain that will be found in the upcoming X5 hybrid, developed in a joint venture with GM, Chrysler, and Daimler.

New Ford Mustang 302 Boss Laguna Seca (2012)

Introduction:

Ford has recently revived the Boss 302 for the 2012 model year.

About the Supercars Engine:

The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 takes a standard 2011 Ford Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 and adds an upgraded intake system and revised engine producing 444 horsepower a 32 horsepower jump over the standard GT’s 412 hp via a forged rotating assembly, CNC ported heads, revised camshafts and a high flow runners in the box intake taken from the 302R racecar. The engine generates 380 lb-ft. of torque and comes with an upgraded six-speed MT-82 manual transmission. A 3.73 rear axle uses carbon fiber plates in its limited slip differential or an optional Torsen differential. The intake system has also been reengineered to provide a growl under hard acceleration, while the quad exhaust system made up of two standard Mustang GT outlets and two side pipes that exit on either side of the rear crossover. The side pipes send the exhaust through a set of metal discs to create an extra growling exhaust sound. The disc is removable and includes a spacer plate sized to match aftermarket exhaust dump valves.

Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster (1999)

Introduction:
The Pagani Zonda is a mid-engined sports car produced by Pagani in Italy. It debuted in 1999, and production ended in 2011. As of June 2009, 206 Zondas had been built, including test mules. Both 2 seated coupe and convertible versions have been produced. Construction is mainly of carbon fiber. Some of the early Zonda engineering was done by Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio. The car was originally to be named the Fangio F1 after him but, following his death in 1995, it was renamed for an air current above Argentina.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (2009)

Introduction:
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The car is the first Mercedes automobile designed in-house by AMG and is described by Mercedes-Benz as a spiritual successor to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.
The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 IAA. Sales began in mid-2010 in Europe with MSRP of €177,310 and will begin in the United States in mid-2011 for less than $200,000.

^Design: 
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is designed to be a modern 300SL Gullwing revival by Gorden Wagener. The car has a long bonnet, the passenger compartment is close to the rear axle and the rear of the car is short. The SLS AMG will also adapt the feature of wing doors that will swing open upwards on gas struts, not in a mix of upwards and forward like the SLR. The doors must be closed manually as AMG engineers decided against auto-closing systems because the systems would have added 90 pounds (41 kg) to the car. In case of a roll-over, the doors can be fully detached to allow the occupants to leave the vehicle.

Gumpert Apollo (2005)

Introduction:
The Gumpert Apollo is a sports car produced by German automaker Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH in Altenburg.

Motorsport:
During April 2005 the Apollo made its racing debut in the Divinol Cup. This Apollo was driven by Belgian race driver Ruben Maes, he finished third on the Hockenheimring race track. Three years later Gumpert announced that they would enter a hybrid version of the Apollo in the 2008 24 Hours Nürburgring, driven by 2004 winner Dirk Müller and ex-Formula One racer Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Three months passed between the first discussions and the finished hybrid Apollo. The Apollo was driven in the 24 Hours Nürburgring in May 2008. The hybrid Apollo can deliver up to 519 PS (382 kW; 512 hp), powered with a 3.3 litre V8 twin-turbo engine coupled with a 100 kW (136 PS; 134 hp) electric motor. The car has the ability to recharge the battery under braking.
On July 27, 2008 an Apollo Sport was on the car show Top Gear. With a lap time of 1:17.1, the Apollo Sport was for a while the fastest on the power lap board, but has been beaten by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Lamborghini Aventador, the McLaren MP4-12C and Ariel Atom V8.

About the Supercar's Engine:
The Apollo uses a 4163 cc bi-turbo intercooled version of the Audi V8 engine. The 90° V8 has a closed-deck light metal crankcase with dry sump lubrication. The light metal cylinder heads have five valves per cylinder, four overhead camshafts, VarioCam Direct variable valve timing on the intakes, and hydraulic valve clearance compensation. The double-flow exhaust system has four oxygen sensors to monitor the gas mixture, and a 3-way catalytic converter. Modern controls include an on-board diagnostic system, eight-coil electronic ignition, sequential multipoint fuel injection, and an electronic accelerator system.

Design:
The Apollo is 1,100 kg (2,400 lb) to 1,200 kg (2,600 lb), street-legal race car. It is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive two-seater constructed on a tubular chromoly frame, with fiberglass or optional carbon fiber body panels. Gumpert claim the design of the Apollo is optimized so that the car could drive upside-down in a tunnel if driven at sufficiently high speeds (over 190 mph), but this has not been tested.

SSC Ultimate Aero (2006)

Introduction:
The SSC Ultimate Aero is an American-built mid-engine supercar by Shelby SuperCars. The higher-performance limited production version previously held the Guinness Book of World Records record for being the fastest production car in the world (succeeded by the 2010 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport), with a recorded speed of 412.29 km/h (256.19 mph). This speed was achieved during tests on September 13, 2007 West Richland, Washington, United States and verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007^. This speed however does not reflect the SSC Ultimate Aero TT's full potential. SSC estimates that the newer, more powerful and lighter weight 2009 Ultimate Aero TT is capable of a top speed of over 300 mph (480 km/h)

- The bottom end of the engine

- The Brembo carbon brakes
